Sustainability Champions Award
The Sustainability Champions Award is an annual recognition program hosted by ASPK to celebrate individuals who have made outstanding contributions to advancing sustainability in Kenya. The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and impact in the sustainability field.
There are several membership categories under the Sustainability Champions Award, including Emerging Sustainability Leader and Sustainability Trailblazer. Each category has its own set of criteria for recognition, including years of experience, impact on the community, and innovation in sustainability practices. Nominations for the Sustainability Champions Award are open to all ASPK members, and winners are selected by a panel of judges comprising of sustainability experts and thought leaders.
- The Emerging Sustainability Leader: is hosted by ASPK to recognize outstanding sustainability professionals in Kenya who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and innovation in their early careers. The Emerging Sustainability Leader category is open to ASPK members who are currently enrolled as Students, Graduates, or Associate members, and have less than four years of work experience in the sustainability field. To be eligible for the Emerging Sustainability Leader category, candidates must have demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainability, have innovative ideas on how to promote sustainable practices, and have made significant contributions to the sustainability field through their work or research. They must also show potential for growth and leadership in the sustainability field.
Nominations for the Emerging Sustainability Leader category are open to all ASPK members, and winners are selected by a panel of judges comprising of sustainability experts and thought leaders. Winners of the Emerging Sustainability Leader category receive recognition for their outstanding contributions to the sustainability field and also receive opportunities for mentorship and professional development from ASPK.
If you’re a Student, Graduate, or Associate member of ASPK and have less than four years of work experience in the sustainability field, we encourage you to apply for the Emerging Sustainability Leader category of the Sustainability Champions Award.
- The Sustainability Trailblazer is hosted by ASPK to recognize sustainability professionals in Kenya who have made significant contributions to the sustainability field through their work, innovations, and other efforts. The Sustainability Trailblazer category is open to ASPK Practitioners and Fellows who have more than seven years of work experience in the sustainability field.
To be eligible for the Sustainability Trailblazer category, candidates must have demonstrated significant contributions to the sustainability field through their work or research, have developed innovative approaches to sustainability challenges, and have shown a commitment to advancing sustainability in their organizations, communities, or the society at large. They must have also made significant strides in promoting sustainability, such as leading sustainability initiatives, developing sustainability strategies, and driving sustainable innovation.
Nominations for the Sustainability Trailblazer category are open to all ASPK Practitioners and Fellows, and winners are selected by a panel of judges comprising of sustainability experts and thought leaders. Winners of the Sustainability Trailblazer category receive recognition for their significant contributions to the sustainability field and also receive opportunities for mentorship and professional development from ASPK.
