Graduate Membership
If you have recently graduated with a degree in sustainability or related subjects and are seeking to advance your career, ASPK’s graduate membership category might be just what you need. By joining, you’ll gain access to a supportive community of like-minded professionals who are committed to advancing sustainability across various sectors.
As a graduate member of ASPK, you’ll enjoy access to an array of resources and opportunities that are designed to help you succeed as a sustainability professional. Whether your interests lie in environmental sustainability, social equity, sustainable finance, or any other aspect of sustainability, you can count on our community of professionals to provide you with valuable insights and guidance.
To be eligible for Graduate Membership, you must have graduated from a relevant degree in the last 3 years and have studied a significant level of sustainability content. This includes covering at least three of the following criteria in your coursework:
- Global megatrends and their impact on sustainability (e.g. population growth, climate change, global middle class, urbanisation, resource scarcity)
- Sustainable Development (e.g. triple bottom line concept, UN Sustainable Development Goals)
- Corporate Responsibility (e.g. ethics, accountability, equalities, inclusivity, integrity, stewardship, engagement, cultural context, transparency)
- Natural cycles, ecosystems, biodiversity and the impact of pollution
- Environment and sustainability principles and issues and associated Policy and Legislation (international, regional or national) relevant to sustainable development
- Tools and techniques for assessing and managing environment, social, economic issues and improving sustainability performance of organisations, products and services, or new developments (e.g. Management systems, auditing, impact assessment, corporate reporting, life cycle assessment).
- Ethics and values course (e.g., ethics, values and critical thinking, role of business in society, sustainable business) exhibiting deep understanding in moral codes and are equipped to make ethical decisions both professionally and personally.
ASPK offers a Graduate membership category for recent graduates with a degree in sustainability or related subjects. Even if you do not have a strong sustainability-related background in your undergraduate studies but have more than three years of work experience and are passionate about sustainability, you can still become a member of ASPK after passing the "Foundations of Sustainability" course. This program provides an overview of key sustainability concepts and principles and allows you to become eligible for the Associate membership category.
