Overview of ASPKenya

The Association of Sustainability Practitioners in Kenya (ASPK) was founded in 2018 by a group of leading sustainability thought leaders in Kenya. These individuals came from diverse backgrounds, including the Strathmore Business School, Safaricom, and the Kenya Climate Innovation Center.

Recognizing the need for a natural meeting point for sustainability professionals in Kenya to collaborate and advance sustainability across sectors, these thought leaders came together to form ASPK.

With the support of KCB Bank, ASPK was officially launched on August 29th, 2018. The launch event was attended by several notable individuals, including the then Principal Secretary in the State Department for Planning, Dr. Julius Muia, the former Danish Ambassador to Kenya, Mr. Geert Andersen, and the current Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations Global Compact, Sanda Ojiambo.

Since its founding, ASPK has continued to grow and evolve, becoming a leading voice for sustainability in Kenya. Today, ASPK boasts a diverse membership that includes sustainability professionals from a wide range of sectors, including business, academia, government, and civil society.

Through its various programs and initiatives, ASPK has played a key role in advancing sustainability across Kenya. From hosting workshops and training sessions to partnering with other organizations on sustainability projects, ASPK has made significant contributions to the sustainability landscape in Kenya.

Looking forward, ASPK remains committed to its mission of promoting sustainable practices and building a more sustainable future for all Kenyans. With a passionate membership base and a strong track record of success, ASPK is well-positioned to continue leading the charge for sustainability in Kenya and beyond.
